Today's Word from Joel and Victoria Crowned With Abundance

Crowned With Abundance

Today's Scripture

"You crown the year with a bountiful harvest; even the hard pathways overflow with abundance" (Psalm 65:11, NLT).

Today's Word from Joel and Victoria

Do you see this year as being crowned with a bountiful harvest? Notice, God didn´t say He would crown with a "barely-get-by" harvest or a "just-let-me-survive" harvest. No, He blesses His people with an overflow harvest. Even the hard places overflow with abundance. Our attitude should be "2009 is going to be a great year. I can already sense it! Favor is coming my way. Blessings, good ideas, promotions already have my name on them!" As long as you stay faithful and keep sowing good seeds, eventually that harvest will find its way into your hands.

Do your part to make sure you are ready to receive at the right time. Make sure you aren´t holding on to negative mindsets, mediocrity, disobedience, sin, fear, or anything that would hold you back or keep you from God´s best. I encourage you today to take inventory of your thoughts, attitudes, and actions. Ask the Lord to show you any area of your life that needs adjusting. As you keep an open and humble heart before the Him and diligently follow His commands, you will receive the bountiful harvest He has in store for you.

A Prayer for Today

Father in heaven, thank You for Your peace, joy, and provision. I trust You today knowing that You have good things planned for me this year. Search my heart and know me so that I can live a life that is pleasing to You. In Jesus´ Name. Amen.

The Secrets of Prosperity

Rev. Lori Fleming in an excerpt from Sacred Secrets: Finding Your Way to Joy, Peace and Prosperity

What is prosperity exactly?

Is it more love, more stuff, more money? Prosperity is more than money—it is loving relationships; fulfillment in our employment; it is peace and serenity; it is an active spiritual life.

We are the cocreators of our lives. We create everything by first having an idea, then doing whatever steps are necessary to bring that idea into fruition.

Jesus taught us to ask, seek, and knock. Wayne Dyer, in The Power of Intention, recommends something called “thinking from the end,” a process of visualizing what we want, holding that mind picture in our consciousness, and doing everything necessary to make it happen. Whatever we can visualize, we can materialize. The creative process turns fantasy into fact.

Clarity is important. Most of the time, we are not specific about what we want. What if, instead, we were to expect our desire to show up in the same way we order something from a catalog or online? Then we would believe it will appear on the doorstep in a few days. When we believe it will happen, when we see it as already ours, it rapidly comes into manifestation.

It can also help to write down what we want; make a treasure map with colorful pictures and bold print. We can put it where it is visible every day and include a date by which it is to be achieved. Then, be grateful and bless this goal. Gratitude is just like plugging in the electricity to make an appliance work.

Before something we desire becomes manifest, before we accomplish our goal, we “fake it until we make it.” Or we might say “Act until it is fact.” The universe will start to rearrange itself to make it happen for us with ease and grace. We do not have to know how it will happen—just have faith in the invisible, in the unseen. Everything we need to do will be shown to us along the way.

Buddha said, “All that we are is a result of what we have thought.” In Matthew 21:22, Jesus says, “Whatever you ask for in prayer with faith, you will receive.” We will never get what we want until we ask for it, believing that we have already received it.

We can consciously choose to have a pleasant day. We can choose to have a good experience when we take our car in for repair, affirming that the experience will be easy, quick, and inexpensive.

If we want a different car, we go out and test-drive a new car. To attract the right relationship, we can first focus on being the perfect partner. To attract money, we can focus on wealth, not on how much we have now.

I was raised to believe that you had to work hard for money and that money did not grow on trees. Now I’m replacing those negative beliefs with the affirmation that prosperity comes easily to me from many sources. And it does. I use affirmations such as: I am a money magnet … I have more than enough … I am receiving money every day … The universe is abundant … and I never forget to say thank you.

When we radiate joy from within and transmit that into the universe, we will experience true abundance.
